Today is the day that I
accepted and also I lost two of the wonders of my life.
Today is a new journey. Today
is a day that I have to go on and I thank God I have Jesus for He gives
me a reason for living. CH Virshina Lalique Radost,
JC, CGC born July 4, 1999 was laid to rest this morning by an amazing
caring Veterinarian Dr. Kristie Ellis, who wept and loved on my Liberty
until she passed along with my Husband, who graciously stood by stroking
her head as he silently wept. Liberty
kept her eyes on me and only once did she look a different direction and
then she quickly looked back to share in her last breathe.
I hope you have the time to
read what I am about to write about this phenomenal Borzoi, this
incredible Lady that I was so honored to be able to call her my own by
two dear Ladies, one of whom I still miss dearly, Virshina Borzoi
Christine Elizabeth Bradley and her lifetime partner, my dear friend
Sherry Neigum. Just shy of
13 years ago, Kirk and I went to Chris and Sherry’s home to see the 10
day old babies. Their Momma,
the phenomenal Am./Int'l. Ch. Virshina Sweet Pea JC, F.Ch., CD, CGC
greeted us with big smiles and allowed Kirk to climb into the whelping
box and lay with them all…not sure how, but Ms. Liberty ended up on
Kirk’s lap as to say… I will be coming home with you soon. Seriously,
at 10 days old she managed to climb onto his lap! I
would also like to acknowledge their incredible handsome talented
singing his heart out Daddy Am./Int'l. Ch. Truhaven's Midas Run.
Thank you to Cindy Tellefsen and Bev Peck for joining up with
Chris and Dottie Turlock for this amazing litter.
Here are a couple of
Liberty’s stories that made her one of the smartest, devoted, loyal,
Hounddaughter I could have never ever imagined I would be gifted with.
First story is in New York at the BCOA Nationals lure coursing
event. Someone’s puppy got
loose and was headed for the roadway… I pointed Liberty in its
direction, which was about 2 acres away from us and told her to go and
get him back…. When I released her other people started yelling
“another dog loose!” which
I replied…”no, watch! She
is going to get the puppy!” To
everyone’s amazement , Liberty caught up to the puppy made it play
with her and then proceeded to bring it back to the person I believed
owned him. After that she
came running back to me. WOW
and they say these are DOGS?? No
reasoning?? Really???
I would allow Ms. Liberty to go and run in the BLM land, while I
was on our ATV or driving along the dirt roads… she would run along
whatever I was driving and kept a steady pace… if a jackrabbit or
cottontail would run in front of her… she would look to see if I would
let her chase…. If it was safe, absolutely, however…this is where
her reasoning came in…she knew I did not like her to “kill”
anything, so… she would just get up to the bunny and then she would
stop to see where I was. Of
course the bunny got away and she would look to see where it went, but
then realizing it got away, she would come bounding back to me with the
cutest dance ever. If you
ever got the chance to see her dance… she was sheer JOY.
Oh my Tibby Doddles… she and my Dad were two that I could
always count on to always be there for me, no matter what.
Liberty would be by my side and never ever have to be on a
lead… she would do anything for me…well except finish her CD.
She would get perfect 10’s on all except off lead side by
side.. this is when she would be three steps behind me and kind of
saunter up and look at me and then kind of sort of sit down…. Could
never get her to complete it perfectly, but…. She was quite the clown
and we and anyone watching her would laugh.
She has amazed me in the ring
and at our home. She was
truly an amazing part of my life that has touched me more than words can
express. See, here is the photo of her and Kirk after she managed to climb up on
him! |
